Last night my little girl asked me to help her play the next movie she wanted. I was in the bathroom.

I teased her, “If you count to 99 from 19, I will come out.”

The little girl wailed, “99 is a big number. I can’t do it!”

I said, ” Then I will not come out.”

She cried, ” It will take ages! I don’t want to do it.”

I insisted, “No counting, no movie!”

The little started sobbing and banging the door.

I opened the door and  grabbed her hands.

“It’s naughty,” I said. “and I don’t like it!”

“I am sorry. But I still want to watch the movie!”

“How about counting to 98?”  I suddenly had a twist in my mind.

“Ah, that’s easy! I can do it, Mama.” the little girl cheered. Then she dried her tears and sailed through to 100  ^_^

What  is the difference between 99 and 98?  As an adult, it’s 1 number difference.  As a child, maybe it is a matter of how much they want to make compromise.

It’s the first day of 2012.

I woke up at 07:13 by alarm clock and eventually got up at 08:00. It’s a breaking record since the holiday began.

The weather was good for a while and then rained for a while. Typical England weather.

I am not a great fan of films but I sat down to watch two films with my family, one then the other.

Suddenly I thought about Helen.

Helen is a librarian. She is going to give up her job and to be a foster parent.

Remember the horrible man I mentioned on one of my posts? I am so glad to that Helen and her husband make such a generous decision. They have brought up two great children and I am sure they will inspire those unfortunate children.

Make a change.

It’s New Year. Let’s say good bye to 2011, try our best to live for ourselves and our family. When you think you are a better person, and you will be.

It’s Christmas Day, but I am depressed.

Firstly, I am tired. These days I couldn’t sleep properly as I usually did. Yet, I still have to work, discipline and educate my little girl and bear the noise in the house all day long.

Secondly, I am stressed. There are 7 coursework I should have submitted for my course but I have done none. It’s been 2 months but I only finished the first chapter. I need time of my own but I just can’t let my little one watch telly all day…

And then, I feel no family and no friends. The man of the house doesn’t have any friends and he doesn’t like to socialise with my friends. What can I do?

At last, I was told a related 17-year-old boy is going to be a father. That made me feel very disappointed. The father of the boy said he was proud of it. This made me feel disgusting. How can such a young boy be responsible to a family? He is just one of the many. They don’t realise but they uses the resources of the nation and disadvantage their own children. It’s the parents’ faulth. The generations in the UK seem to go downhill further and further. I am losing faith on this land.

What shall I do?

We have  been thinking about camping for over a year.

Last July we had a tent in the garden and my little girl had great fun there. This year we decide to set it up in a real camp site :)

In case we don’t like it, we have  chosen Orchard Park which is about 20 miles away

This is the list – I forgot to list Cooking oil, Butter and Sandwich meat

Oh dear! It’s raining again! The poor guy in front of us is going to do some cycling?

How lovely these ponies are!

This is the reception

John takes us to the camping point on his bike

It rains cats and dogs

The rain stops! Let’s set up the tent quickly!

No hammer? No problem. A brick would do the job 露营实战录 <wbr>(一)

Our tent and neighbours

Utility centre

Information centre – I call it “Mini library” :)

After a great BBQ with the family in another town, guess what I’ve seen?

Night night, sleep tight -

But not quite  -

The little girl turns again and again over the night, and, the neighbour on my right snores like a motor!

Poor me…

The man of the house asks the wife to watch his 2-minute long newly-made  trailer.

20 seconds later,

the wife says:  “Get rid of the groom at the beginning!”

“I love that.” The man of the house says.

“No, no, NO! The shot is not powerful enough.”

“It’s the second time I put it on and you want it off again?”

“No wonder I’ve seen it so unbearable!” The wife grinned.

“Oh well, maybe someone up there tries to  tell us something?” The man of the house says.

The wife giggles  – she is an amateur video-grapher. The man of the house is a Master Video-grapher. However, women are always right – arn’t we?

Hi all

Been one of those days today. It’s a day my partner is away working so I’m left at home holding the baby, sort of thing….

What I mean by that is that I am looking after our daughter while Jan is at work, since there is no school this week.  Luckily still got 10 days to go before the first dance show so plenty of time to get the wedding finished, but still need to get cracking on it. However can’t do nothing when I have a 5 year old to look after, as she is always coming into the studio to see what I’m doing….

So I decided to spend some quality time with her, so we set off to the cinema to see Kung-Fu Panda 2! Soon as we got there I realised there was a couple of problems. The main problem is that I had forgot her bag holding all the 3D glasses.  Also my premier card was in there to get points for the visit, so was quite a disaster.

Anyway was still going to go in when I saw the queue. It was so long it actually come out of the building and they were queuing in the car-park to get in! Now i know how we Brits love to Queue and all that, but I wasn’t really prepared to take 15 minutes or so to get in, have crap seats in some dark corner of the theatre cramped in amonst so many sweaty and probably smelly bodies for 2 hours! And because I had forgot the bag, pay a lot extra for the privilege! So the film was a no go.

Never mind, I told the sobbing Gabby, we can go somewhere else. her little face brightened up slightly and with a sniff she murmured “Can we go to Mangos?”

Of course we can, I bellowed with glee and her smile was back. So we set off, drove the couple of miles or so through town, and pulled up in the car-park. Once unloaded I noticed her feet. “Err, where’s you socks?” I enquired.

“I couldn’t find them,” she bleated, her bottom lip quivering slightly (I was a chilly morning).

“They’ll not let you in without your socks.”

Her face darkened, her little hands on hips and she did what her mums always seems to do these days…. she gave me the Glare!

So, the quality time didn’t go quite as I planned. So when we got home, I allowed her to play on my World of Warcraft for a while, where she had to read the quests and do the tasks and she actually had a good time on their. Now, to get my computer back…..

As for work, finally got to editing at 4pm, and still at it….

Just spent 15 hours on Maxine’s Casting Agency website yesterday. What a mammoth day! My family didn’t even know I was at home until I came down to watch Doctor Who last night.

Previously I had spent a couple of evenings this week coming up with ideas to create photo layouts of the performers, and when successful it was the nitty gritty stuff that took all the time.

Of the things Maxine asked of me, one of them was to have all the performers grouped by age, and more importantly, because of child safety that performers under the age of 16 be hidden from the public. This has been achieved by the use of some security plug ins. To see the children you must be logged into the site (passwords will be available to Parents and Agents when all the performers have been added to the database.) I have added all the performers that were on the old site, but there are still many more to be uploaded.

Transferring the main information pages from the old site to the new wasn’t as straight forward as I hoped (is anything ever), so I had to build each page from scratch. I even had to get inside and change the code on some of the site settings, which is great fun and something I absolutely love. Its not the first time I have had to code and I wish i had more time to keep at it and get better and better….

I think the Casting Agency looks great, and because it is a word-press site, I think Maxine should find using it much more simple than the old one. I just uploaded 100 kids on it in a matter of hours so I think Maxine can have this site operational very soon! I dare say she will put a blog up on her own site to let you know how shes getting on.

Better get to my wedding now, great to have a break but looking forward to getting back to editing.
